On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 16:00-17:00 UTC, ICANN’s Internet Service Providers and Connectivity Providers Constituency will hold a webinar ‘The New gTLD Program 2026 and the Future of the DNS Ecosystem‘. The session, one of an ongoing series of DNS Training Webinars for ISPs, will provide an overview of the forthcoming New gTLD Program and examine key technical and policy challenges, including string collisions and the management of variant labels, both of which influence DNS security and stability. It will also explore the evolving role of blockchain domains and Web3 naming systems, assessing how they intersect with – and potentially reshape – the traditional DNS.
