On Tuesday, 14 April 2026, at 13:00-14:15 UTC, ICANN At-Large will host a webinar Overview on DNS Abuse Mitigation to discuss and help shape the At-Large agenda in its combat against DNS Abuse.

DNS Abuse mitigation remains as a key focus area for the ALAC and At-Large community. It is generally accepted that DNS Abuse cannot be eliminated. However, it is also clear that it can be mitigated and such mitigation efforts may take many forms and are often driven by various parties either working collaboratively or complementarily to bring about impact to protect end users against harm perpetrated by malicious domain name registrations.

This webinar is part of At-Large’s DNS Abuse Mitigation Capacity Development Track, and follows a Feb 2026 briefing  by the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO)  on its Internet Identifier System Security, Stability, and Resiliency Research (SSR), and a joint ALAC OCTO session at ICANN85.

This is not At-Large’s first foray into the topic, and there have been extensive capacity building efforts  going back as far as ICANN 67 in 2020, including the production of a snazzy DNS Abuse 101 video,  and a longer overview: DNS Abuse: An End User Perspective
