On Friday, 27 March 2026, at 18:30-20:30 CET (17:30-19:30 UTC), the Internet Society Switzerland Chapter (ISOC-CH) , with support fom NGI Zero Commons, will host its Public Policy Sessions 2026 event at L200 Zurich, This year’s theme is ‘ ‘What does digital sovereignty mean for civil society?‘,

As a US-based organization defending digital rights across the world since the 1990s, the Internet Society’s European Chapters can play a key role in making sure that the current wave of European claims on digital sovereignty will strengthen digital rights worldwide while taking into account important challenges related to ecological sustainability, health, and resilience, as well as key values like openness, privacy, and democracy.

This event initiates an ongoing public process by the chapter to examine, and hopefully resolve, some of the thorny issues associated with the topic. A livestream will be available via BigBlueButton.
