ISOC SG supported the World Digital Economics Summit (WDES) 2025 was held on May 28, 2025, at the National University of Singapore. This year’s theme, “Finance, Technology, and Governance: A Trilogy for a Sustainable Future,” reflected the commitment to advancing dialogue on digital transformation and sustainability.
As an officially endorsed event of Asia Tech x Singapore (ATxSG), WDES 2025 is co-hosted by the Asia Academy of Digital Economics (AADE) and the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (UN IGF), in collaboration with leading global partners. This year also marks a significant milestone—the inaugural launch of the Singapore IGF (SG IGF)—highlighting Singapore’s emerging role as a leader in global internet governance.
Previously the 2024 edition of the summit was graced by Mr. Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information and National Development of Singapore, as the Guest of Honor. The event also featured a keynote address by Mr. Carlos Garcia, Vice-Chair of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly’s Second Committee, and welcomed distinguished participants from organizations such as UNIDO, BIS, A*STAR, NVIDIA, Alibaba, DBS, and Sea Group. Additionally, it brought together ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from around 20 countries, including the United States, Jordan, Israel, Venezuela, Estonia, and Uzbekistan.
