The Internet Society Uganda Chapter is proud to announce the election of a new leadership team that will serve a two-year term from 2025 to 2027. This dedicated team brings a wealth of experience, passion, and vision to guide the Chapter’s mission of promoting the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet for the benefit of all Ugandans.
Leadership Profiles

Joshua Mpairwe is a software engineer with over 12 years of experience developing and maintaining web-based systems. He is the Director and Co-Founder of Centric Solutions (U) Ltd, an ICT firm specializing in software development, networking, and IT equipment supply. A long-standing member of the Internet Society, Joshua was instrumental in the formal registration of the Uganda Chapter. Joshua holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from the Uganda Management Institute.
During his past term, Joshua led the Chapter in hosting key events in digital governance events such as the 2024 East Africa Internet Governance Forum and Uganda Internet Governance Week. Also during his term, the Chapter built strong collaborations with institutions like Enabel Uganda, Research Education Network Uganda (RENU), Pollicy, and Paradigm Initiative. As President, he is committed to fostering stronger collaborations for an open and stronger internet.

Brian Kasozi is a Ugandan computer scientist, educator, and technologist with over a decade of experience in software engineering, data science, and AI-driven educational transformation. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at LUT University in Finland, following his MSc in Computer Science from the University of Trento and a BSc in Computer Science from Uganda Christian University. His career includes roles as a Computer Science Lecturer, eLearning Architect, and AI Researcher at institutions such as Uganda Martyrs University and Uganda Christian University.
A passionate advocate for open-source technologies, Brian collaborates with the openSUSE community to develop and support open educational tools. He is especially interested in the intersection of education, AI, and open technologies, and is dedicated to fostering innovation and digital inclusion.

Joy Amanda is an operations and project management professional with over nine years of experience coordinating cross-functional teams and optimizing organizational processes. She currently serves as the Operations Manager and Administrator at Greenwatch Uganda, where she oversees administrative functions and supports the organization’s environmental and advocacy initiatives.
Her career spans key roles at ASIGMA, Kanzu Code, and administrative positions in the fintech, beverage, and media industries. Joy is passionate about operational efficiency, team empowerment, and contributing to mission-driven organizations.

Ashaba Nebert is an ICT professional with a strong background in network engineering and digital inclusion advocacy. Nerbet holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Makerere University..
With over four years of experience as a Network Operations Engineer at ISPs like Savvana Fibre Ltd, Sprint Internet (U) Ltd and RENU, he brings deep technical expertise in managing core network infrastructure. He combines this with a passion for ICT for Development, low-cost communication technologies, and IoT for developing regions.
Nebert has also worked extensively within civil society, leading impactful programs such as the 2023 Girls in ICT Day X Space webinar. His commitment to empowering underserved communities continues to drive his efforts in digital transformation and inclusive connectivity.
