Executive Committee Members
The Executive Committee (EXCOM) of the Internet Society Ghana Chapter is the executive body that manages the day-to-day operations of the organisation. All members serve in good faith, uphold the highest professional, ethical, and legal standards, and fulfil the obligations of their positions. ISOC Ghana elections are governed by its byelaws (Article V). Click here for the ISOC Ghana bylaws.
The ISOC EXCOM runs the affairs of ISOC Ghana and requires active participation of all officers. For the 2022 election cycle, there are four (4) positions open for a two-year commitment. Eligibility of nominees vying for the various positions will be verified. Newly elected officers will be assuming office by August 1, 2022.
President
The President is the principal officer and is responsible for leading the Chapter and managing its activities in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Internet Society and its byelaws. The President presides at all meetings of this Chapter and of its Executive Committee.
The nominee should be an ISOC Ghana member for at least 5 years or 3 years if a nominee has held an ISOC executive position. Other criteria include:
● Proven leadership skills
● Good communications skills
● Good project management skills
● Good team player
● Good management skills
● Prioritize ISOC activities over other social activities
● No criminal record
Vice-President
The Vice-President presides at meetings in the absence of the President. The nominee should have been an ISOC Ghana member for at least 3 years or 2 years if the nominee has held an ISOC executive position. Other criteria include :
● Proven leadership skills
● Good communications skills
● Good project management skills
● Good team player
● No criminal record
Secretary
The Secretary prepares and distributes minutes of all meetings of the Executive Committee and maintains these correspondences of record for the organization.
The nominee should be an ISOC Ghana member for at least 3 years, or 2 years if the nominee has held an ISOC executive. Other criteria include:
● Proven ability to manage administrative processes
● Good communications skills
● Good team player
● No criminal record
Financial Secretary
The Financial Controller oversees all financial transactions of the Society, including collection of dues, the payment of all bills, and maintaining the Chapter’s financial records. He/she shall work with a Finance Committee in the performance of his/her duties.
The nominee should be an ISOC Ghana member for at least 3 years, or 2 years if the nominee has held an ISOC executive position. Other criteria include:
● Ability to write and interpret financial statements
● Basic Accounting practice
● High moral integrity
● Exposure to financial management
● No criminal record
