We are proud to announce that Hank Nussbacher, who has been an integral part of the Israel Internet Association (ISOC-IL) team for many years, has been elected to the Internet Society’s 2024 Chapters Advisory Council Steering Committee!
The Chapters Advisory Council Steering Committee brings together representatives from Internet Society chapters around the world and serves as the voice of the chapters to the Internet Society President & CEO and Board of Trustees. This Committee consists of nine geographically diverse members elected from among the ChAC representatives to lead the Committee’s discussions and draft recommendations on the topics brought forward by the chapters.
Hank is one of nine candidates elected to the Chapters Advisory Council Steering Committee, where his extensive experience and deep understanding of internet technologies and policies will be invaluable. A networking expert involved in both industry and academia for 40 years, he is one of the founding fathers of the internet in Israel. He has worked for many companies, including industry leaders like Cisco, IBM, AT&T, Checkpoint and others, and has actively contributed to various collaborative internet committees. Hank has written several RFCs and patents in the internet realm, and represented the IAB on the International Ad Hoc Committee to determine the future structure of the generic Top Level Domain system. This committee later became the Interim Policy Oversight Committee (iPOC), after which it finally became ICANN.
We congratulate all of the elected representatives and their Chapters and look forward to their important work for the global Internet Society community.
