On Friday, 4 September 2026 at 09:00 – 16:00 HST (19:00 UTC – 02:00 UTC on 5 September), the inaugural Hawaiʻi School on Internet Governance (HiSIG), under the theme ‘Navigating Global Digital Governance‘, aims to build digital capacity and awareness across Hawaiʻi and the Pacific. Part of a global network, the program explores critical themes including the Multistakeholder Model, digital equity, and the ‘State of the Internet’ featuring keynote speaker Vint Cerf. Participants will engage with experts from ICANN, ISOC, and the IGF to address trust, safety, and AI risk. The HiSIG aims to empower regional leaders to shape a secure, inclusive digital future while strengthening the community’s ‘pilina’ (connections) within the global governance landscape.
