On 7 July 2026, the Accessibility NYC Meetup (A11yNYC) hosted a meetup ‘The worldviews we build with: Why good design starts in the spirit‘.

For good or bad, every product shipped carries a worldview. Drawing on indigenous learnings from Aotearoa New Zealand, and examples from accessibility and AI design, Elina Ashimbayeva explored what happens when worldview work is treated as foundational rather than optional.

The meetup was webcast live via a partnership with the Internet Society New York Accessibility SIG.
