The Brussels School of Governance together with Internet Society have organized the Digitally Aware Elections event series, a platform where the digital policy visions of European political groups are illuminated. The purpose is to be well-prepared and informed about the future of EU digital policy, and how the next European Parliamentary term will tackle crucial issues like AI, cybersecurity, and online safety?
This event series is addressed to students from the MSc in European Integration at the Brussels School of Governance, who will document discussions, culminating in a Policy Brief that outlines digital policy approaches for the next term.
In this event series, distinguished advisors and experts from academia, government, and industry engage in discussions with policy advisors and the audience, aiming to equip voters with the knowledge needed to make informed choices about digital policy.
The Belgian Chapter of Internet Society is part of the discussion panel, where we explain the multi-stakeholders Internet Ecosystem, including ICANN At-Large EURALO. Among the topics, key risks on the Internet were debated:
- Digital Sovereignty vs the multi-stakeholders model (see The Internet Ecosystem);
- The risk of fragmentation of the Internet and its consequences (see Splinternet),
including on Domain Names (DNS) and IP addresses; - Internet Shutdown (see Internet Pulse);
