SCILLS program expands to three new countries

We are excited to announce the expansion of our Strengthening Communities, Improving Lives and Livelihoods (SCILLS) program to three new countries: Brazil, Ghana, and Indonesia.

The SCILLS program aims to contribute to economic inclusion and increase educational opportunities by supporting individuals and communities to more knowledgeably and skillfully use the Internet.

“The growth of the SCILLS program in 2022 – reflected by a doubling in grant funding to $3M and this geographic expansion to now six countries – reflects the Internet Society Foundation’s increasing commitment to promoting equitable digital transformation through Internet skills development. Building on our work to date in Bangladesh, Colombia and Senegal, we look forward to awarding new SCILLS grants that will enable digital inclusion in Brazil, Ghana, and Indonesia as well”, noted Sarah Armstrong, Executive Director of the Internet Society Foundation.

SCILLS will open for statements of interest in Brazil, Ghana, and Indonesia between June 13 and July 5, and decisions are anticipated in late September. Grants of up to $250,000 USD will be awarded to eligible organizations for projects lasting 24 months.
